17th February 2006 Kite surfing: Aberdyfi Wind Direction: mainly SW/W Wind Stength: 10-20 knots Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Kite surfed so much this week, I thought Id cram it all into one entry!! 5 days in one week has to be good!! Had a couple of mini demo days over here, so have flyed a variation of 12 and 16 meter Caution 06's, Airush Halos, GK sonics 14,11 and 8, and a north Rhino. In winds ranging from 10-20 knots, and most of the kites back to back for true comparisons. Awesome week, with variations of perfect flat stuff, and wicked surf, as usual the 11 meter sonic was doing it thing, and certanly prooved a bonus when people where running in to mix and match between 16s and 12s when the gusts came in!! Riding the super grunty 12 meter spitfire3 was a real change from the sonic, and its smooth even power was awesome riding strappless on a surf board. Had a session on the halo, but sadly wasnt that impressed, it flys much the same as all the Pattended Bows, and really feels a step behind the Sonic. ( Just isnt as smooth), the bar prooved awkward, really hard to adjust, and geuss what , it got tangled up in the water!! Forgot to mention it also ripped from tail to nose! The real star kite for me this week was the 8 meter sonic, I wont even bother reviwing it, cos Ill be here all day. all in all a awesome week, heaps of wind, heaps of surf, and a good crew on the beach. Shame the winds gone for the weekend. |
